Jessica graduated from the University of Miami with a degree in Biomedical Engineering and currently works in the medical device industry. She is also pursuing a master’s degree from Johns Hopkins University. Shortly after her graduation from The U and her move to Texas, she was introduced to Operation Red, White and Bike and instantly began providing support for the organization.
Larry is a co-founder of Operation Red, White and Bike. Larry is a retired training and development professional from the energy industry and has worked extensively overseas. Larry and his wife Marcia live in League City, Texas and own a small business in Kemah, Texas. Larry's main hobby is cycling; he and Marcia are keen line dancers. Larry has two sons John and Scot and two Grandchildren. Seen with Larry & Marcia is they’re charming dog, Irish
Rob, also a co-founder, is a retired Lieutenant Colonel; he enlisted in the US Army in 1979. He graduated The Citadel (Class of 1982) and served 24 years in the Infantry and Civil Military Affairs. He is pictured at a school that his team rebuilt in Jalalabad, Afghanistan. Rob was the Commander of the Jalalabad Provincial Reconstruction Team from 2003 to 2004 and is the recipient of a Bronze Star medal.
Laura Bowman graduated from the University of Texas with a degree in Education and has been teaching in the Cy-Fair School District for 22 years. She is the proud mother of two sons and is active in her community. Laura brings a special knowledge of children that has added real value to Operation Red, White and Bike.
Felix Garcia is the National Commander of The Military Order of the Purple Heart. He is a retired Marine. He was medically discharged from the United States Marine Corps after being wounded in combat while serving his country in Iraq during 2004. Felix was awarded three Purple Hearts. The Garcia Family came to the attention of Operation Red, White and Bike after their two young daughters were nominated and approved as little heroes. Once bicycles were awarded to these young ladies, you could tell that Felix and his wife Christina loved what we do and wanted to get more involved with honoring children and younger siblings of combat wounded soldiers and soldiers killed in action. They know firsthand the impact that our program has on these young children and their families.
Dayna is a retired geophysicist from ExxonMobil and spent 35 years working in the oil industry. She supplemented her geophysics background with a M.Ed. in educational psychology from the University of Houston. Dayna is Adjunct Instructor in Developmental Math – Pre-Algebra at Lone Star College – University Park. She is active in the American Legion Auxiliary and Commemorative Air Force. She and her husband Tony Smith live in Spring, Texas with their menagerie of cats and dogs.
Sean O’Connor is studying as a Seminarian at Mount St. Mary’s Seminary for future service to the Diocese of Colorado Springs. While a student at Texas A&M University, Red, White and Bike came to do a presentation to the child of an alumnus from the Texas A&M Corps of Cadets. From that moment he began helping out by coordinating volunteers to assist at the annual bike ride. After graduation he moved to Texas to work in the Chemical industry, during which time he joined our Board, helping to update our rider registration and check-in processes for our annual bike ride. After three years in Houston he relocated to Mount St. Mary’s to begin seminarian studies. Sean will continue as Operation Red, White and Bike's spiritual adviser.
